My Personal Bucket List

Death is inevitable but so is life, unless of course your parents choose not to bring you to earth, (in which case you wouldn't be reading this either). However, what is not inevitable, is our choice of how we choose to live. There are happy days and sad days, inspiring days and gloomy day, all-is-so-right days and everything-is-so-messed-up days - but regardless of what kind of day you have a chance to live, you are living and that is what counts in the end.

So, if we have the chance to live, why not make it huge? Or at least hope to make it huge. So, as ong as you and I have not kicked the bucket, lets imagine the things we have always wanted and dream the ideas we have always cherished, because whether cliche or creative, they will always find their way into our very own bucket lists. 


My Bucket List : A List of Things to Do before I Die!

  1. Visit Bali, Paris and Maldives 
  2. Try scuba diving, river rafting, sky diving, skiing, kayaking, paragliding, rappelling and snorkelling
  3. Pay off some stranger's bill
  4. Leave a note in a bottle and let it drift into the sea
  5. Go stargazing
  6. Sleep under the stars
  7. Ride in a hot air balloon
  8. Release flying lanterns in Thailand
  9. Swim with Dolphins
  10. Shower in a Waterfall
  11. Have a great Indian wedding and a Christian beach wedding
  12. Walk the Arenal Sky Walk in Costa Rica
  13. Watch New Year's Eve in Times Square
  14. Learn to Drive
  15. See the Northern Lights
  16. Watch the Great White Sharks
  17. Fly First Class
  18. Attend La Tomatina Festival and Pamplona Encierro in Spain 
  19. Attend Medical School
  20. Meet my favouite authors - Chetan Bhagat and Preeti Shenoy
  21. Float in the Dead Sea
  22. Run a Marathon
  23. Take a Flight over Mt. Everest
  24. Visit Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida
  25. Go on a week-long cruise
  26. Graduate College
  27. Attend a Broadway Show
  28. See Mona Lisa
  29. Participate in a color run
  30. Stand on the Equator
  31. Jump off a cliff
  32. Go on a spontaneous roadtrip
  33. Kiss in the rain
  34. Ride in a Limousine
  35. Travel to all 50 US States and 7 different continents
  36. See a coral reef
  37. Sing my heart out at karaoke in a bar
  38. Visit the Bolivian Salt Flats
  39. Be the house on the block with the most Christmas lights.
  40. Be published in the New York Times as a best-selling author
  41. Become CPT Certified
  42. Donate Blood
  43. Give a "TED Talk"
  44. Fall asleep in a hammock
  45. Spontaneously buy a airplane ticket 
  46. Throw a dart on a map and travel to that place
  47. Make a Snowman
  48. Solve a Rubik's Cube without the hacks
  49. Let go of 99 red balloons
  50. Win a giant stuffed animal at a carnival.
  51. Complete all the things on my bucket list and keep adding new stuff to my list

I come from an Indian background, specifically from a Gujarati family. There is a great emphasis on business and education in a typical Gujarati household. The importance of career, academics and professional pursuits has always been a very important part of my personal identity and one of my foremost priorities in my own life. " मेहनत इतनी खामोशी से करो की कामयाबी शोर मचा दे " This is a Hindi quote that translates to: "Work hard in silence, let your success make the noise" This is one of my favorite quotes primarily because it makes me feel so powerful. The vibe it carries is very motivating. It encourages me when I fall weak and I want to cry out to the world that I am tired of constantly putting in some kind of effort. It inspires me when some of my friends are having a jolly good time while I am stuck studying or working hard. The quote holds a deep meaning and I basically feel invigorated every time I read it.
